Job Summary:
Responsible for the filing and storing of all health records, charts and films. Operates the computerized record system. Assists the Local Health Authority in coordinating Health Services Unit operations and provides clerical support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the filing and storing of all health records, charts and films.
- Operates the computerized record system.
- Assists the Local Health Authority in coordinating Health Services Unit operations and provides clerical support.
- Types of memoranda, business letters, and general correspondence. Answer the telephone.
- Makes appointments and schedules meeting rooms for medical meetings.
- Escorts new employees, visitors, etc. to the Medical Unit.
- Plans for identification badges for new employees.
- Prepares payroll and distributes paychecks.
- Maintains, develops, and updates organized filing systems.
- Orders supplies and keeps records of invoices.
- Receives and signs for all supplies and equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness of office facilities.
- Mails activity reports to the Brentwood office weekly.
- Maintains personnel files on-site and forwards copies corporate and HR as requested.
- It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records. Knowledge of common safety precautions.
- Must be able to perform tasks as outlined in the facility's Procedure Manual and in accordance with all applicable State and Federal regulations.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- One (1) to two (2) years’ experience desirable, preferably in a correctional setting or medical setting;
- C.N.A., E.M.T., C.M.A., or Medical Assistant preferred.
- Must possess strong computer skills.
