Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and issuing discipline as needed and ensure staffing levels are adequate and meet budget requirements.
- Coordinate training programs for all new employees for cash handling procedures, proper food handling, storage, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Engage with the operations floor during service by checking in with guests, monitoring food quality and presentation, and handling complaints and requests by guests in a timely manner.
- Monitor staff sale activities, including POS (point of sale) register receipts, and investigate and report on shortages or overages from revenue locations.
- Assist with tracking revenues, payroll, food and beverage costs, and other expenses.
Requirements: High school diploma. A minimum of two years of experience in food service or related field, with a minimum of one year of supervisory/management experience. Must be TIPS certified or able to pass the certification. Must have or be able to obtain Serve Safe certification or industry related certification. Experience with collective bargaining environments preferred. Must have strong organizational and training skills, as well as excellent customer service and people skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with persons of diverse backgrounds. Able to lead and motivate team to achieve goals. Must have knowledge of liquor handling laws pertaining to distribution, security, and management of minor employees. Must possess knowledge of Iowa Department of Health laws and regulations. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills. Must have experience with inventory practices, labor/cost of goods analysis and P&L statements. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and push carts up to 150 lbs. Must be able to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
