Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Attendant to join our team in providing exceptional care for pets during their stay. This part-time position involves caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The role requires flexibility to work irregular hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, year-round in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to pets boarding at the facility, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their stay.
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitation of kennels and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Monitor pets’ behavior and health, reporting any concerns to management promptly.
- Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with patience and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate care routines and share important updates about pets.
- Interact positively with pet owners, providing updates on their pets as needed.
- Assist with feeding, walking, and administering basic care tasks as directed by supervisory staff.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions while caring for animals in outdoor kennels or play areas.
Requirements
- Prior dog handling experience is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Comfort working outdoors and indoors in different weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and interaction with pet owners.
- Compassionate attitude towards animals with a genuine interest in their well-being.
