Position Overview
The Boat Rental and Maintenance Lead oversees the daily operations of the marina's boat rental services and leads the maintenance of marina facilities and rental fleet. This role is central to delivering a high level of customer satisfaction, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet and Facility Oversight
- Oversee the maintenance, readiness, and presentation of the rental fleet and marina facilities.
- Schedule and perform routine inspections and maintenance of rental boats, docks, buildings, and other infrastructure to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain inspection checklists for boat rentals and marina equipment.
- Develop and maintain inspection checklists for docks and marina facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair marina equipment and rental boats, including mechanical and electrical systems.
- Assist with pumpouts and trash removal as needed.
Customer Service and Rental Operations
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for boat rentals that ensure a consistently high level of customer service.
- Support bookings, contracts, and financial transactions for boat rentals, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
Staff Supervision and Training
- Support the training and management of rental and maintenance staff, ensuring the team is well-prepared to meet the marina's operational needs.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal boating laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety briefings for customers and staff, and maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and safety inspections.
Other Duties
- Assist with additional activities as requested by management or ownership.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Engineering, or a related field; additional technical training in maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in boat rental operations and facility maintenance, with a strong background in customer service.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of boating safety regulations and certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical activities, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Work Environment
This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, often under varying weather conditions, and may require emergency responsiveness outside of standard operat
Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
