Elementary Specials Teacher- PE

Grain Valley teachers are expected to provide instruction that meets the district goals, mission, and benchmarks; create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interest of the students. All candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to their own ongoing professional growth.

Qualified candidates must possess an appropriate Bachelor’s degree and K-12 Physical Education and Health certification in the state of Missouri.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans for and guides the learning process to help students achieve educational objectives
• Selects and utilizes effective and appropriate instructional strategies 
• Establishes a cooperative relationship with all students
• Creates an inclusive classroom environment through supportive exchanges with students and clear expectations for community behavior 
• Creates a collaborative and supportive environment where students compete and grow through physical activity 
• Works collaboratively with staff and administration to achieve the overall purposes of the academic program and the goals outlined in the building improvement plan
• Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations and student achievement, developing methods for improvement, and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home
• Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration
• Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and productive learning environment 
• Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job-related knowledge and skill development
• Maintains regular and dependable attendance
• Well-versed in technology integration, including G Suite for Education
• Support building activities and initiatives (Field Day, Elementary Track Meet, etc.)

Salary : $43,000 - $47,500
