Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Design Engineer located in San Jose, CA. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and products. Daily tasks include creating detailed drawings, specifications, and design layouts using CAD tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams, analyzing design issues, and providing solutions to ensure the efficiency and performance of mechanical designs.
Job Description:
· Lead the design and development of HVAC systems, including equipment selection, layout, and specification.
· Perform detailed energy analysis and load calculations.
· Develop construction documents and specifications.
· Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., electrical, plumbing) to ensure project integration.
· Manage HVAC projects within the HVAC division, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
· Begin leading small project teams within the HVAC division, ensuring tasks are allocated efficiently and completed on time.
· Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet client and project goals.
· Prepare and present internal "lunch-and-learn" sessions.
· Pursue professional licensure (e.g., PE) and maintain knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
Job Requirements:
· 5 years of experience working for an engineering consultant.
· Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
· Proven ability to lead small teams and manage projects within the HVAC discipline.
· Preferred: Professional engineering license in at least one state of the USA.
