Position Overview
The OFCI Manager leads the strategic planning, procurement tracking, logistics management, site receiving, and operational handoff of owner-procured, high-value mission-critical equipment. In hyperscale and colocation data center builds, vital electrical and mechanical infrastructure—such as backup generators, switchgear, UPS systems, chillers, and transformers—is sourced directly by the owner to secure lead times and scale pricing. This role ensures that all OFCI assets arrive on-site on schedule, undamaged, fully tested, and seamlessly transferred to general contractors and commissioning teams.

Mission-Critical Supply Chain & Vendor Management
-
Serve as the primary operational liaison between long-lead equipment manufacturers (OEMs), internal supply chain teams, and site construction managers.

Oversee production tracking, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and lead-time milestones for critical power and cooling infrastructure (e.g., MV/LV switchgear, CRAHs/AHUs, battery storage systems, and backup generators).

Ensure OEMs submit accurate technical submittals, BIM models, and wiring/piping schematics to engineering and contractor teams well ahead of scheduled delivery.
Logistics & Schedule Synchronization

Build and maintain a real-time OFCI Equipment Master Tracking Matrix to monitor asset status from manufacturing through transit, site arrival, equipment setting, and energization.

Align vendor production and shipping schedules with the master construction schedule (Primavera P6) to execute "Just-in-Time" site deliveries, mitigating site congestion and eliminating double-handling.

Coordinate heavy-haul freight, specialized rigging, customs clearance (where applicable), and secure staging at off-site consolidation warehouses.
Site Receiving, Chain-of-Custody & Turnover

Manage rigorous site-level arrival protocols, shipping damage inspections, and formal chain-of-custody handoffs to General Contractors and trade partners.

Ensure contractors properly store, protect, and maintain strict climate-control requirements for sensitive electrical and cooling equipment prior to pad setting and utility hookup.

Identify and resolve interface discrepancies between OFCI equipment and contractor-installed interconnecting systems (e.g., raceways, piping, controls, and structural pads).
Quality, Commissioning & Warranty Integration

Partner closely with QA/QC and Commissioning (Cx) teams to track pre-functional checklists (PFCs), equipment startup sequences, and vendor technician schedules for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Coordinate vendor field support, field modifications, technical service bulletins, and factory technicians throughout the Level 1–5 commissioning lifecycle.

Manage initial warranty start dates, spare parts inventories, and preliminary defect claims between OEMs and general contractors.
Qualifications & Technical Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent professional industry experience.

Professional Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years managing construction logistics, equipment procurement, or project engineering for mission-critical facilities (such as Data Centers, Semiconductor Fabs, or High-Tech Industrial plants).

Direct, proven experience working with major data center OEMs (e.g., Schneider Electric, Eaton, Vertiv, Caterpillar, Cummins, ABB).

Technical Knowledge:

Comprehensive understanding of data center MEP infrastructure, including UPS systems, emergency generators, medium and low-voltage switchgear, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and transformers.

Familiarity with commissioning phases (Levels 1–5) and advanced project controls/tracking platforms (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, BIM 360, Layer, Tableau, or Power BI).
