Duties
- Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and drying machines following strict protocols
- Clean, disinfect, and organize dental instruments and tools to ensure readiness for procedures
- Manage inventory of sterilized supplies, tracking usage and reordering supplies as needed
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during processing and handling of instruments
- Maintain detailed records of sterilization cycles, instrument logs, and quality assurance documentation
- Assist with the setup of treatment rooms by providing sterile instruments for dental procedures
- Follow all safety guidelines related to infection control, OSHA standards, and medical terminology
Experience
- Prior experience in sterile processing or medical instrument sterilization is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology enhances understanding of instrument handling and patient safety
- Familiarity with inventory management systems helps ensure efficient stock control of supplies
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, infection control procedures, and medical terminology is advantageous
- Ability to follow detailed instructions precisely while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization
