Pay Range
$42.78 - $50.43 /hour
The Wound Ostomy Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for utilizing training and skills to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Obtain medical histories when necessary.
- Perform physical exams (within established wound or surgical protocol).
- Diagnose, treat and monitor chronic diseases (within protocol wound or surgical guidelines).
- Order diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe or recommend medications for prescription for medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines).
- Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling.
- Assist wound center providers with wound or surgical clinic procedures.
- Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality.
- Make follow-up calls to check patient progress.
- Work closely with wound center nurses to assure patient flow is efficient.
- Assist wound center providers and inpatient wound nurse(s) with inpatient wound consults as well as see these patients independently.
- Consult with doctor regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Master's degree in nursing or Graduate of a Physician Assistant training Program
- Certified Nurse Practitioner, Certificate of fitness through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Licensed as an RN in the state of TN, and Licensed as a CRNP in state of TN, required, or State PA License required
- AHA BLS required
