About The Role
We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team of mental health professionals. This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule (4 ten-hour days or 5 eight-hour days)/
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients diagnosed with Schizophrenia, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and dual diagnoses involving substance abuse.
- Evaluate new admissions and oversee patient discharges.
- Conduct daily one-on-one sessions with a manageable caseload of 15 patients per day.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in treatment planning and execution, including participation in mandatory “treatment mall” sessions.
- Utilize EMR systems for documentation and patient care planning.
- Supervise and collaborate with PMHNPs and other clinical staff as needed.
Our hospital campus includes specialized units to meet a variety of patient needs:
- Forensic Transition Unit: Lower risk patients (caseload 1:20)
- Admitting Forensic Units: Moderate to high-risk patients with 1–2 admissions per week (caseload 1:15–1:20)
- Adult Mental Health Unit: Focused on community stabilization with repeat utilizers (caseload 1:13, 1–2 admissions per week)
- MD/DO degree with active board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid Georgia medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Expertise in treating complex mental health cases, including forensic psychiatry experience (preferred but not required).
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
