Position Summary: Seeking a dedicated physician who wishes to focus their practice on the care of teens and young adults in the South Bay community and beyond. This job will include the treatment of eating disorder patients both in the clinic and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Range: $200,000 - $280,000
Compensation Policy: We offer a competitive total compensation and benefit package to our physicians. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Total compensation takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business factors. This total pay range includes incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care to adolescents and young adults, with the option to also see some general primary care patients.
- Conduct outpatient eating disorder consults in clinic. During these consultations, you will manage any medical complications of the eating disorder and determine the appropriate level of care for treatment of these patients. You will typically follow the patient throughout the course of their treatment.
- Work as a Hospitalist in the Eating Disorders Medical Unit (EDMU) at Torrance Memorial, providing medical stabilization for hospitalized eating disorder patients ages 11-25. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a team that includes a Psychiatrist, Dietitian, Psychologists, Gastroenterologists, and Pediatric nurses.
- Medical degree (MD or DO), with current, unrestricted state license to practice
- Board certification or active board certification in a relevant specialty (Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine)
- Clinical experience with treating adolescents and an interest in providing care to eating disorder patients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with good bedside manner and ability to work with psychiatrically complex patients and their families.
- Collaborative team player who can coordinate across various disciplines and levels of care.
- Sensitivity to trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care principles.
- Position is full-time, 4 or 5 days per week, depending on preference.
- Hospital coverage will be split between the physicians in the inpatient program. On hospital coverage days, you will round in the hospital in the morning, typically seeing up to 5 patients per day. Clinic visits will be scheduled in the afternoon.
- The position will require occasional weekend coverage of the hospital program.
