This role involves approximately 8 inpatient hospital medicine shifts per month and a significant role in the development and implementation of the point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum, resident assessment, and quality assurance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Provide high-quality inpatient care during 8 hospital medicine shifts per month.
- Supervise and mentor residents and medical students during inpatient rotations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement evidence-based practices.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and lead the point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum for residents.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on POCUS for residents.
- Conduct POCUS training for medical students during IM clerkship
- Assist pre-clinical faculty in teaching ultrasound to medical students during pre-clinical coursework
- Assess residents' proficiency in POCUS and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct clinical teaching during patient care activities and didactic sessions.
- Participate in the evaluation and assessment of residents' and students’ clinical performance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to residents and students in their professional development.
- Serve on program committees including Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee
- Participate in didactic activities including morning report, grand rounds, and academic half day.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine.
- Eligible for Arizona State License
- Preferred minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in hospital medicine.
- Proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and experience in curriculum development.
- Strong commitment to resident education and mentorship.
