We have an exciting opportunity for a Part Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Lewes name, a category B/C Prison located in Sussex.

HMP Lewes is a male prison that has a capacity for 742 inmates and are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant to support with duties such as Labelling, stock taking, checking, collections etc.

Hours

0730 - 1630

3 days per week (22.5 hours)

Salary

This position is Part Time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £29,837 per annum FTE - depending on experience. The salary will be pro rata for 22.5 hours per week.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Be working as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers from the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions.

Qualifications Required

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
• Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
