The position of the Controller is responsible for month and year end close, back-up for CFO, Supervising accounting staff, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Credit Manager. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Qualifications
- Dedication to excellence and a quality output
- BBA or BS with a major in accounting and five years’ experience working in accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Experience with ERP systems. Knowledge of Visual ERP system a plus
Responsibilities
The following activities are required in this position:
- Promote excellence throughout the department
- Monthly, quarterly, and year-end account analysis
- Monthly closings and financial statements
- Various year end reporting requirements
- 401k quarterly review, committee member
- Assist with annual physical inventory
- Assist with year-end close
- Assist with annual financial audit
- Complete annual benefits audit
- Canadian T2 and T4 tax returns (oversee Triple S and CDM)
- Personal property tax return
- Maintain fixed asset ledger
- Create and modify reports in Report Writer
- Monthly closings and financial statements
- Peterson Spring CIMA, Dip Spin Royalties accrual and payment
- Banking oversight: wire transfers, borrowing base report, and account reconciliations
- Commissions for our employees and reps oversight
- Multiple state sales and use tax returns oversight
- Cost accounting oversight
- Government reports oversight
- Involvement with General insurance renewals and group health insurance renewals
- Path to excellence weekly chair (accounting, HR, receptionist)
