What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Data Analyst position at PRA Group (Nasdaq: PRAA)?
This is a hybrid Onsite role working in either our Charlotte, NC or Norfolk, VA office.
Liaison with internal stakeholders and partners in the organization, conducting an analysis to identify the impact of process changes in areas of opportunity for segmentation improvements and process changes. Formulates and presents strategy changes, impact analysis, and testing results to peers and leadership. Interprets data to identify business trends, conduct root cause analysis of business problems, or suggest areas for business process improvement. Assesses current practices, collects information and analyzes industry trends to help determine operational objectives.

- 3-5 years of business analysis experience, preferably in financial services, legal recovery or collections.
- Proficient at developing and maintaining reporting packages through visualization tools (Power BI or R shiny preferred).
- Able to write complex join, union, pivot, common table expression query statements for complex data calculations using time window functions in SQL.
- Familiarity with computerized modeling and how to utilize models in data sets
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex data quality issues or other business problems
- Intermediate-level experience in business analysis using data analytic tools.
- Conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills utilizing Excel or other statistical packages to analyze data for potential solutions.
- Strong PowerPoint skills as well as formal presentation skills
- BA/BS degree, preferably in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or another field.
In-depth knowledge of concepts and processes to include:
- Designing charts and graphs to explain a cause-and-effect approach to interpreting data and performance results.
- Finding best fit solutions to help tell a compelling narrative of the data that aligns to the intended audience.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate and negotiate with other departments in solving problems and setting new strategies.
- Able to prepare and present analysis to leadership.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains performance on strategic decision points for activities managed by strategy.
- Conducts analysis to identify the impact of process changes in areas of opportunity for segmentation improvements and process changes.
- Contribute to the Company's analytical development to keep pushing the boundaries in modelling, predictive analytics and business insights.
- Oversight of Policy and Procedure documentation along with change management and testing documentation as required.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) of at least one area of strategy. Liaison as the SME to other stakeholders and partners in the organization.
- Identify issues and process improvement opportunities and work with other areas of the business to analysis, report and resolve discrepancies (including taking ownership of actions/projects where appropriate). Partners with compliance to ensure processes are aligned with regulatory and risk mitigation criteria.
