We are building highly scalable, energy-efficient photonic integrated circuits and optical engines that will power future AI datacenters and advanced computing platforms.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior / Principal Silicon Photonics Test Engineer to help characterize, validate, and qualify silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and optical subsystems. You will work closely with photonic designers, packaging engineers, foundries, and customers to develop test methodologies, automate measurements, analyze data, and support product qualification. This is a hands-on engineering role that combines laboratory experimentation, test automation, and data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Characterize silicon photonic devices including modulators, filters, WDM devices, transceivers, and optical engines
- Perform optical, electrical, RF, and thermal measurements
- Develop and execute wafer-level, die-level, and module-level test plans
- Build automated test and data collection frameworks using Python
- Analyze measurement data and correlate results with simulations
- Support reliability testing and product qualification activities
- Work with foundries and manufacturing partners to improve yield and test methodologies
- Generate technical reports and maintain laboratory documentation
Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Optics, Applied Physics, or a related field
- Experience in silicon photonics testing, optical systems, or photonic device characterization
- Hands-on laboratory experience with optical measurement equipment
- Familiarity with RF testing and photonic integrated circuits
- Programming experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience with high-speed optical devices and transceivers
- Experience with co-packaged optics or optical interconnect systems
- Reliability testing and failure analysis experience
- Automated test development experience
Compensation
Base Salary: $100,000 – $200,000
