What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operator position at PPS-HPS?
PPS is seeking a detail-oriented Plant Operator for our liquid waste management facility in Austin. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits and a high ceiling for growth!
Responsibilities:
- Load/unload docks using forklift
- Operate and monitor pumps, valves, chemical feed systems, and other treatment equipment to control the flow and treatment processes
- Monitor gauges and charts, and use computerized systems to ensure optimal treatment and compliance with regulations
- Collect samples at various points and perform laboratory tests to assess water quality and treatment efficiency
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment, identify and resolve equipment issues, and make necessary repairs
- Document operational data, maintain records on water quality, and prepare reports to ensure adherence to environmental regulations
- Follow safety procedures, plan emergency response protocols, and act to fix issues
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- Experience safely handling liquid waste, wastewater, or chemicals
- High level of attention-to-detail
- Proven mechanical acumen and previous work with pumps, motors, valves, etc.
- Forklift operation experience
- Monitoring machines or processes
- Ability to follow SOPs to maintain environmental compliance
