Janitorial Worker

Job Description

Janitorial Worker - The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment throughout PPI Tech Inc. facilities. This role performs routine cleaning and sanitization, scheduled deep cleaning, basic facility upkeep, supply restocking, and end-of-shift security tasks to support the comfort and safety of employees, clients, and guests.

Responsibilities

·         Clean floors, windows, mirrors, walls, and other frequently used surfaces.

·         Empty trash containers and recycling bins and dispose of waste appropriately.

·         Clean and sanitize restrooms, office workspaces, common areas, and other assigned spaces.

·         Restock essential facility supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.

·         Perform scheduled deep-cleaning tasks on a monthly, quarterly, or as-needed basis.

·         Complete minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and tightening loose fixtures or handrails.

·         Operate and maintain janitorial equipment, including vacuums and floor-care equipment, in good working condition.

·         Respond promptly and calmly to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and other facility concerns.

·         Secure assigned areas or the facility after maintenance and cleaning tasks are complete.

·         Report safety hazards, repair needs, supply shortages, or equipment problems to the appropriate supervisor.

·         Ability to follow product instructions and applicable workplace health and safety procedures, including proper disinfectant contact times.

·         Ability to handle routine waste-management duties and follow established procedures for potentially hazardous materials.

·         Strong attention to detail, reliability, and time-management skills.

·         Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond appropriately to changing facility needs.

·         Basic problem-solving skills for minor repairs and maintenance concerns.

·         Ability to communicate clearly with employees, supervisors, clients, and guests.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

·         Proven work experience as a Janitor or similar role

·         Prior experience working in a warehouse preferred

·         Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to remain active for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects while completing cleaning and maintenance tasks. The role requires the ability to safely use cleaning tools and equipment and to perform potentially strenuous work throughout the shift.
