What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing and Process Engineering Lead position at PPG?
As an Engineering Lead, you will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, World Class Manufacturing, Process and Capital Improvement, and Personal Growth. You will report to the Plant Production Engineering Manager. This is a fully onsite position, first-shift role with off shift responsibilities and oversight as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team and assist operations in achieving all objectives including safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Responsible for driving improvement and maximizing productivity among the products and processes associated with one or more work areas.
- Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work area, and with operators to eliminate barriers to production.
- Priorities include improve product quality and manufacturability, increasing process capacity, improving process safety, reducing variation within product and process, reducing cycle times and setup times, and adopting new technologies to modernize manufacturing processes
- Track and analyze relevant production metrics within work cell, to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.
- Collaborate with quality team, design engineering team, new product development team, safety team, analytical lab, operators, and other manufacturing engineers on a regular basis to resolve problems, improve manufacturing processes, and improve safety of the work environment.

- Bachelors degree in Engineering required, with preference for Mechanical or Manufacturing disciplines
- 3 years of leadership or management experience
- 5 years of engineering experience
- Success with process improvement and lean reductions
- Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma principles knowledge
