What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at PPG?
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for process development and manufacturing of photochromic dyes, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) materials and optical coatings, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!
Location: based onsite in Monroeville, PA
Work Schedule: 8:00 to 4:30 Monday through Friday. May require overtime or some weekend work.
Pay Range: $45,000 to $60,000 annually, non-exempt OT. Depending on skill(s) and experience higher rate of pay may be considered.

Responsibilities
- Help with routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of mechanical equipment, tools, and facility systems
- Perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues under the guidance of supervisor
- Support preventive maintenance (PM) activities, including lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment
- Follow work instructions, maintenance procedures, and safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation
- Help with equipment installations, modifications, and shutdown/startup activities
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas and mechanical spaces
- Escalate abnormal equipment conditions or safety concerns promptly
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Mechanical aptitude and high level of safety awareness
- Strong problem solving, initiative, and knowledge of PC applications
- Interact with all levels of organization, and able to work in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day
- Must be able to stand, bend, crouch, kneel throughout the day, use basic tools, operate a Forklift or ability to learn new maintenance skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
