Production Supervisor II

As the Production Supervisor, you will manage production employees in the fabrication and processing of Aerospace Transparency material and parts. The function of the Production Supervisor is to support the PPG corporate initiative to accomplish the goals of the department . The goal is to produce products of the highest quality, meeting our customers' expectations. The Production Supervisor assures that the department staff has the resources needed to perform the responsibilities of daily production. Complete daily production targets, manage timecards daily, promote productivity goals and engagement goals.

Salary range for this position is: $69,000 - $115,000 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe operating environment, provide production assistance and support.
• Excel with high expectations, diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Work collaboratively in a manufacturing team environment with functional area supervisors and managers to accomplish goals and meet customer requirements of quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance expectations
• Communicate data and competencies, to employees and company, address and resolve issues in areas of quality, continuous improvement, and hold team accountable to company policy.
• Responsible for 5S programs sustainment; identify and eliminate waste in all phases of the production processes, lean manufacturing and SPC principles.
• Train, cross-trains and maintains proficiency records of employees. Review, evaluate employees, counsel when needed and identify high performers.
• Recommend proper staffing levels based on production need and maintain employee records.
• Manage cost of manufacturing, including inventory control, material usage, overtime and accurate reporting of WIP movement.
• Review skillfulness and handle related problems.
• Assure proper maintenance of equipment and tooling, and supplies and tools available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND 2 years minimum of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing or maintenance environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND 5 years minimum of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing or maintenance environment
• 5 years of minimum leadership or manufacturing supervisor experience or equivalent.
