What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Inspection Technician (Aerospace) position at PPG - North America?
PPG Aerospace in Avon, MA is looking for a Materials Inspection Technician to safeguard product quality from receiving to shipment.
Here’s what’s in it for you- Pay: $24.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm; OT and weekends as needed
- Do you enjoy testing and measuring? You’ll perform visual and dimensional inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, and finished goods.
- Do procedures guide your work? You’ll follow specifications, SOPs, and industry standards without compromise.
- Is documentation your strength? You’ll maintain complete, accurate quality records and entries in our ERP (QAD preferred).
- Are you hands-on with tools? You’ll handle equipment verification and calibration checks.
- Do you lead by example? You’ll uphold safety protocols, wear PPE, and help foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
- Can you juggle priorities? You’ll manage time and drive efficiency while protecting quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 2 years in a lab, quality, or inspection setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail; able to follow instructions and work with cross-functional teams.
- Self-starter who prioritizes effectively and completes tasks end-to-end.
- Clear communicator who can flag issues and contribute to prevention of future defects.
- Comfort with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (QAD preferred).
- Must be a US citizen.
