We are seeking an experienced chemist to join our dynamic Industrial Coatings team as a Customer Development Chemist. In this role, you will lead and execute raw material and product stewardship projects across various coatings chemistries and markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and execute activities to support corporate raw material initiatives and aid in technical raw material decision-making.
- Work with technical, procurement, and commercial teams to identify and drive raw material cost savings and supply security projects.
- Support Americas operations on raw material optimization projects, growth projects, and supply issues.
- Develop strategy for PPG Restricted Substances and support relevant new/impending regulatory regulations.
- Provide support for customer and production-related issues as needed.
- Ensure alignment to standard methodologies and best practices for formulation creation.
Qualifications:
- Degree in chemistry or related field required.
- Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience required OR Master's degree with relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of coatings formulation, manufacture, application, and testing procedures preferred.
- Supply chain and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.
