PPG Aerospaceis now hiring an Aerospace ProductDesign Engineer!As theDesign Engineer, you will beaccountable for the engineering design support of new and existing Aerospace Transparencies products throughout the world.You will provideproduct testing and product performance evaluations toassurethat products and transparency programs will profitably meet performance expectations defined by the customer, regulatoryagenciesand Aerospace Products,Transparencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical responsibilities include providing support to Huntsville, Sylmar andAmpaSpacemanufacturing facilities and all related products through the effective use of engineering skills and experience in structural design and analysis, electrical design, product testing, and product documentation.
Responsible for technical communications within PPG, as well as to customers and to governmental regulatory agencies and authoritiesby means ofengineering test reports, presentations, white papers, etc., in supportof allnew and existing products.
Interaction with customers, sales, product support engineering, program management, manufacturing, quality assurance, GTC, other PPG manufacturing facilities andpossibly regulatoryagencies isrequired.
Provide continuous improvement for the department's environmental, health and safety,qualityand value performance toinsureaninjury freework place, 100% compliance to customer satisfaction while meeting plant profitabilityobjectives.
Participateonsafety,qualityand value improvement teams, be responsibleto attendandcontributeto several ongoing activities such as manufacturing planning, budgetpreparationand departmental IT planning.
Will activelyparticipatein andthe PPG New Product Introduction (NPI) process during Technical Reviews and Management Gate Reviews (including New Program Selection Meeting).
Remain technically aware of industry trends, government regulations, customer requirements and PPG Aerospace Transparency's manufacturing process requirements in order to personally contribute suggestions and recommendations.
Qualifications:
5 years' experience in the Aerospace industry.
MinimumBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering fieldrequired.
Must be proficient in both 3D and 2D CAD, SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
Experience with Aerospace structural design and analysis, including knowledge of finite elementmethod.
Experience providing technical support within a manufacturing facility.
Strong ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
Product data management (PDM) experience is a plus.
Mustpossessstrong communicationand collaboration skills.
