We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Shelby, NC team as an Aerospace Quality Manager.

As the Aerospace Quality Manager, you will manage the daily operations of our Shelby, NC site's quality function. You will ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards, supporting production teams, and continuously improving quality performance.

You will also, provide leadership and supervision to the staff in the Quality department within the PPG Aerospace business unit. Plan, organize and manage department to support operations to meet customer requirements. Efficiently develop and utilize people, equipment, and budget to meet business requirements for safety, environment, and quality plan. This position interacts frequently with customers, suppliers, and auditors. This position is responsible for assuring that the department activities are aligned towards supporting the goals, mission, and business strategies of PPG Aerospace, and PPG.

In this onsite role at our Shelby, NC facility and you will report to the Senior Quality Manager, Americas and partners with site leadership to lead alignment with global transparency quality goals.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with AS9100, NADCAP, and PPG standards.
• Ensure compliance with PPG and customer requirements applicable to manufacturing and inspection.
• Lead internal and external audits, support customer and regulatory audits, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Oversee nonconformance investigations, material review board (MRB) activity, and RCCA implementation.
• Collaborate with site leadership to support daily production and ensure quality compliance.
• Provide technical quality support for manufacturing processes, new product introductions, and engineering changes.
• Promote local continuous improvement initiatives using lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce defects and scrap.
• Maintain quality documentation, records, and traceability for all site processes.
• Monitor quality KPIs and lead data-driven problem solving and performance improvement.
• Support and develop site quality technicians, ensuring training, and engagement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field required.
• Eight or more years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, NADCAP, and quality system requirements.
• Experience leading audits, managing CAPA processes, and conducting root cause analysis.
• Proficiency with quality tools and techniques such as APQP, SPC, FMEA, control plans, and process audits.
• Experience working with ERP or QMS software systems; QAD and ETQ Reliance a plus.
