What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Coordinator position at PPEP Inc.?
The Residential Coordinator oversees and supports a 24/7 residential group home for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Casa Grande. Reporting to the Program Manager, the role ensures a safe, clean, and supportive living environment while supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and coordinating daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor DSP staff; assign duties and ensure compliance with IDD policies.
- Assist in hiring, scheduling, performance monitoring, and corrective actions for staff.
- Oversee daily care, personal needs, meals, and hygiene of residents.
- Manage facility operations including budgets, supplies, maintenance, and vehicle safety.
- Coordinate medical appointments, medication administration, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation according to policies and regulations.
- Promote quality of life, cultural competency, and positive interactions among staff, residents, families, and stakeholders.
- Participate in direct care shifts and serve on on-call rotation as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED; preferred bachelor’s in related field (Special Education, Psychology, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years working with IDD population in community settings; 1 year supervisory experience.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license, able to meet PPEP driving requirements, and at least 21 years old.
- Ability to obtain required certifications (CPR/First Aid, Fingerprint Clearance).
Physical & Emotional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/sit for long periods, climb stairs, and assist residents.
- Ability to remain calm and supportive in crisis situations.
Additional Notes:
- In-service training and medical clearance may be required; exposure to blood-borne pathogens possible (Hepatitis B vaccine provided).
