Job description
The machinist set up and operate a variety of machine shop equipment for material fabrication in support of manufacturing operations. Repairs, fabricates and/or modifies molds, tooling, jigs, and fixtures as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and program the CNC milling machines.
- Perform typical machine shop operations using CNC milling machines, lathes, etc.
- Verify accuracy of the finished product against blueprints.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.
- Must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following tasks: Milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, sanding, welding.
- Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
- Performs weekly routine machine maintenance.
- Assist in other work areas as needed based on business requirements.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 2 years prior machinist/mechanical experience required.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hazardous Material Handling certification preferred.
- Will be required to provide own tooling required in the performance of position.
Position Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers, use simple math to perform basic calculations, and use basic handheld measuring tools.
- Strong general mechanical skills.
- Ability to communicate and follow instructions, verbal and in writing.
- Capable of using both hands simultaneously to perform required functions of position.
- Ability to perform troubleshooting actions for problem resolution.
- Effective verbal, written, and mathematical skills.
- Team player with a “team first” mentality.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing.
- Able to walk and stand throughout an eight-hour day.
- Able to repetitively use arms, hands, and fingers in the manipulation of parts.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds routinely.
- Ability to withstand a variety of operating conditions.
Full-time, benefits eligible
1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Final candidates will be required to successfully complete a drug and alcohol screen prior to employment.
