MP Systems, Inc. is hiring a Field Engineer I - Land Surveyor in the Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, Appleton Area to support transmission line projects in Wisconsin. The Field Engineer will be responsible for inspecting projects and will coordinate with construction crews on quality assurance and control for various types of tasks and projects. Field Engineer shall conduct business in accordance with PPC and MP Systems, Inc. mission and vision statements.
Responsibilities:
- Part of the on-site project management team with a focus on quality
- Perform a variety of field & office surveying and mapping duties.
- Experience with Trimble field equipment / GPS and CADD software to perform topographic survey, construction layout and staking, Survey Maps, Foundation Elevation Confirmations.
- Inspect projects within customer territory at the direction of Supervisor(s) and Manager to ensure compliance with project engineering plans and permits.
- Attend project related meetings such as pre-construction walk throughs, safety, outage planning with internal crews, subcontractor crews and client
- Assist with daily job reporting, field verification, job books, document control and QA/QC documentation
- Update and track key performance metrics that optimize performance and productivity to reduce costs
- Catalog, update and maintain project drawings to include as-builts in preparing turnover package to client
- Utilize mobile GIS programs for mapping features and logging inspection points.
- Complete Sag Validation Audits and Documentation to confirm installation to specification
- Complete inspection reports and communicate action items to project team
- Assist with subcontractor orientation, operations and audits
Requirements:
This position requires a self-motivated person with a passion for hands-on work in outdoor environments.
Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
- A two-year degree in Land Surveying or Civil Engineering Technology or a four-year degree in Land Surveying (preferred)
- Individual must be able to work independently, be flexible with daily work hours (including occasional early mornings), work on multiple jobs simultaneously, and fulfill all job requirements within a timely fashion.
- Safe driving record and habits are a requirement of employment as a significant volume of driving will occur.
