We are seeking a Solar Design Specialist to join our team and develop and manage the Design and Engineering Department to deliver the best possible customer experience to thrive as the leading nationwide residential solar company.
The right Solar Design Specialist is someone who has extensive experience with various design tools such as AutoCAD, Aurora, or similar solar modeling programs. The right Solar Design Specialist also has experience ensuring plans meet NEC code and local building requirements. This position will be a visionary operator who sees how to streamline and make more efficient and cost effective the entire solar value chain, and can scale the company to thousands of installs monthly and nationwide.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by verifying project designs meet the correct requirements for first time approval from the authority having jurisdiction and are optimized for a speedy, high quality, installation.
- Develop and manage successful Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Review designs from our design partners to ensure the design quality meets our standards as well as AHJ engineering and NEC requirements.
- Provide ongoing feedback to design partners to improve the overall quality.
- Make construction and design decisions
- Create a standard process for plan set revisions and coordinate as needed.
- Identify, leverage and manage outsourced design firms to perform additional work on select projects.
- Provide strategic guidance to management regarding trends in product quality, installation quality, installation performance, failed inspections and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Attributes:
- Active NABCEP PV Installation Professional is a big plus.
- This position is FULLY remote so the ability to be highly successful in a virtual/remote corporate environment is essential.

- Experience with Business Intelligence software such as Tableau or Power BI, etc.
- Four-year college degree in a related field is required, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience.
