Position Description
Position Objectives
- Greet participants, respond to questions, and provide professional customer service in person, by phone, and by email.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for programs, activities, and special events.
- Operate recreation and facility software systems and maintain attendance and registration-related records.
- Handle monetary transactions and related reports as assigned.
- Enforce department policies and program rules.
- Monitor participant safety and behavior and respond appropriately to routine issues.
- Inspect facilities and equipment and report safety concerns.
- Maintain supplies, inventory, and organized storage areas.
- Perform general custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with program and event planning and support after-hours and weekend events as needed.
- Performs related duties, as assigned.
Desirable Training and Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of customer service practices and participant support.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, email, and database systems used in recreation operations.
- Knowledge of general safety practices, facility care, and program support functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Some related experience or equivalent training.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain reliable attendance.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and special events.
- Ability to drive county vehicles, if required.
