Job Summary
PowerUp America is seeking a Director of Acquisitions to serve as the primary driver of property sourcing and acquisition activities. This role is focused on building a robust property site bank to support the deployment of EV charging stations funded through grants and private investment. The strategist will also play a key role in securing and negotiating site host agreements for the PowerUp PlugBack program.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and contact landowners, commercial property agents, and developers to identify available parcels suitable for EV charging station deployment
- Generate interest in site leasing or sales to support PowerUp’s strategic expansion initiatives
- Negotiate and secure Letters of Intent (LOIs) for the leasing or purchase of real estate, tailored to the requirements of each opportunity
- Report regularly to company leadership, providing updates on acquisition efforts, and adjust strategies based on grant requirements and state program needs
- Identify and engage with current Level 2 charging site owners, negotiating opportunities to replace outdated or broken chargers with new PowerUp PlugBack units
- Maintain accurate records of site acquisition efforts, agreements, and communications to ensure transparency and compliance with PowerUp America’s standards
- Attend a minimum weekly accountability meeting in person with PowerUp leadership to review progress and align on priorities
Work Environment
This position offers flexibility to work from home or from the PowerUp America office in Gray, TN. Regular use of a computer, phone, and office equipment is required. When working on site, PowerUp will provide necessary office equipment and resources to support job performance.
Qualifications
- Background in real estate, site acquisition, or related field preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to research markets, identify property opportunities, and build relationships with property stakeholders
- Familiarity with contract processes, LOIs, and leasing/purchasing agreements
- Self-motivated and goal-driven, with the ability to adapt strategies quickly based on program or market requirements
