Lighting Sales Specialist

In this role, the selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and effectiveness of utility lighting systems that illuminate public spaces and infrastructure. Contributing to the development and implementation of lighting solutions that meet regulatory requirements, promote energy conservation, and optimize visual performance. Developing new clients, leads, and sales targets to meet/exceed company objectives and goals
Essential Functions/Duties
- Provide technical support to sales team, quotations and order entry, and guidance to sales teams.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, reports related to lighting solutions, and train sales team on lighting solutions.
- Build, develop, and maintain a sales forecast/growth for PowerLink’s entire territory.
- Collaborate with inside and outside sales to specify appropriate lighting fixtures and controls.
- Evaluate new lighting technologies and products for energy efficiency.
- Design and implement lighting systems for various utility projects. Ensure compliance with applicable lighting regulations and standards.
- Develop annual sales plan in support of organization strategy and objectives
- Perform sales presentations and assist the outside sales team on lighting sales.
- Generate new leads and establish new utility and distributor accounts through research, contact, planning, presentation, and other trade factors, to grow lighting sales.
- Demonstrate technical lighting knowledge and sales techniques to build sales and support customer needs.
- Visit clients and potential clients to conduct site assessments/inspections to analyze existing lighting installation, lighting needs and performance to promote offerings/services.
- Collaborate with sales, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to assess lighting needs, conduct field evaluations, and recommend appropriate technologies.
- Generate and submit work summaries on sales calls, meetings, inquiries, expenses, and weekly plans.
- Resolve client issues by investigating problems with clients; developing solutions; preparing reports and working with the team for resolution.
- Possess positive attitude, integrity, work ethic, and excellent time management skills.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in lighting design, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainability practices
- Be highly organized and a self-starter.
- Maintain a professional/working image with self and work environment including vehicle cleanliness.
- Perform other duties as appointed or required to successfully complete the job.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Business, and/or relevant years of experience.
- Proven experience in lighting design and implementation, specific to the electrical or utility market, preferred.
- Strong knowledge in the areas of utility electrical lighting, lighting codes, standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lighting design software and simulation tools, computers, electronic mail, Microsoft Office suite applications, video presentations, conference calls, as well as additional office equipment [printers, copiers, telephone, calculators, etc.].
- Aptitude to learn and utilize sales platforms [i.e. Sales Force, Constant Contact, etc.].
- Ability to negotiate and communicate clearly/concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work individually or in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Willingness to travel.
Physical Demands
The physical demands of the job must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job largely consists of sitting for prolonged periods of time, including as a driver or passenger in an automobile. This position requires the ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 25 pounds and that may occasionally weigh more than 25 pounds.
Travel
This Job requires frequent travel, more than 50% to perform sales calls and to meet with clients. Some overnight travel may be required due to customer locations, training, meetings and/or conferences.

Projected Total Compensation: $80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
