Rick’s Welding/PowerLift Doors Door Installer
The Rick’s Welding Door Installer completes the installation of hydraulic doors and performs onsite repairs. This individual uses various tools and equipment to complete door installations in a safe manner while balancing workflow and maintaining quality standards. Our Door Installer assists with the completion of door projects efficiently and on time. Aspiring individuals with the desired skill set and a positive mindset that are suitable for this profession. Duties/Responsibilities:
Primary duties include
- Knowledge of hand tools, equipment such as telehandlers and forklifts
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and telehandlers
- Ability to lift 100lbs
- Ability to weld onsite
- Safe operation of a boom truck
- Work in a safe manner
- Ability to maintain a DOT health card and have a clean driving record for DOT purposes
- Prep door for shipment which includes collecting all necessary paperwork, standing door up and strapping down per company standards, and communicating with the pilot cards on desired route when applicable
- Transport door to jobsite on trailer
- Unload door from the trailer and navigate to the door opening
- Attach door to the building lagging it to the header and posts or stitch welding to the header and posts
- Mount the pump and remote system (only if applicable)
- Fill the pump with hydraulic oil and test the system upon completion of door attachment (the door should be run several times to test functionality)
- Install and adjust bottom closeouts based on concrete level
- Clean up and collect all tools used for the installation
- Inform the customer/contractor that you have completed the installation and collect payment if applicable
- Keep all communication with the customer/contractor positive and only discuss items which you have control over
- Return to facility with truck and trailer, complete any final paperwork and inform Inside Sales & Logistics Foreman of any issues with the installation
- Complete warranty repairs when necessary (this may be in conjunction with a door installation or a separate trip)
- Monitor and communicate any issues with service trucks to the Inside Sales & Logistics Foreman
- Ensure that the service truck remains clean and stocked with parts, if additional parts are needed please notify the Inside Sales & Logistics Foreman so they can complete an order with the warehouse
Summary
The Door Installer is a crucial part of our production process and essential to the completion of projects. Our success is due to a good work ethic and quality workman ship. Working in a safe and productive manner is essential to the daily success of Rick’s Welding and to the success of our team. In the role of the Door Installer it will be essential to be diligent and have attention to detail as no two doors are the same and each will require different components.
Compensation/Benefits:
Compensation
- This is an hourly pay position, and this hourly rate will be determined by the General Manager based on qualifications and experience level. Any additional perks need to be negotiated and provided in writing to be applicable.
- Standard Employee Assessments will be conducted on a designated schedule.
- A year-end bonus may be awarded. This dollar amount will depend on several factors including but not limited to production level for the year, reported safety issues, owner/general manager discretion. Any amounts owed to the company (materials, reimbursement for inappropriate use of the company credit card, amounts owed to the owners, etc.) will be deducted before the bonus is distributed.
