PowerGrid Services is in search of a full-time Project Manager for the management activities involved with the construction of Transmission Lines throughout the United States.
Job Summary:
Implement and meet project goals in safety, quality, schedule, and budget. Contract management and closeout on multiple projects being performed simultaneously. Perform routine project tasks including project procurements, material management, change management, subcontract management, schedule development, and craft onboarding/management.

Location:
Position is based out of our office in Garner, NC. Travel to project sites throughout the United States will be required.
Preferred Background:
Transmission Line Construction management whether field and/or office based.
Required Skillsets:
Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Communication Skills – project management team, clients, and third parties
Organization and Multi-tasking between multiple active projects
Coordination/Logistics
Computer Skills including MS Word, Excel, and MS PowerPoint
Schedule and Planning Understanding
Problem solving skills
Driver’s License – ability to drive throughout the US
Ability to fly throughout the continental US as needed
Desirable but not required Skillsets:
· Knowledge of typical construction means and methods.
· Knowledge of Construction/Project Management means and methods.
· Experience with direct-hire craft.
· Presentation/Public Speaking Skills
Job Responsibilities:
· Constant Coordination and Communication with Client Project Managers
· Assisting Safety Manager with adherence to Powergrid’s safety policies and procedures.
· Procurement of equipment and materials as needed.
· Work collaboratively with vendors/suppliers to ensure materials and equipment are ordered and delivered as needed.
· Material tracking and management
· Tool and equipment tracking and management.
· Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly on construction progress
· Ensures projects are efficiently, effectively, and safely implemented in accordance with Powergrid guidelines, client contracts and policies, and local/federal regulations.
· Assists with preparation of proposals.
· Review of proposals
· Schedule development and tracking
· Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocations, assesses field status and resolves issues as needed.
· Change Management – ensures any changes to the contract are identified, tracked, and communicated back to the client Project Managers.
· Reviews budget, schedule, quality, risk trackers, and contingency allocations
· Interfaces with clients acting as a representative of Powergrid
· Supervises activities and/or coordinates activities or groups, such as safety programs, engineering, construction, budget management, scheduling
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned
· Travel to a new or between projects or to meetings at a moments’ notice
Working Environment/Physical Demands:
· Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs.
· Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around confined and cluttered spaces and on uneven ground.
· See and hear naturally or with correction.
· Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of job duties
· Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
· Requires repetitive movement.
· Typical construction site environment
· Requires working in very hot or very cold temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
· Requires working extremely bright or low lighting conditions.
· Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
