Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and vacuums.
- Handle chemical agents safely while applying cleaning solutions for sanitation and stain removal, adhering to all chemical handling safety procedures.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks involving furniture, supplies, or equipment while practicing safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Maintain cleanliness by dusting surfaces, emptying trash receptacles, sanitizing high-touch areas, and ensuring all facilities meet health standards.
- Operate custodial equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to ensure optimal floor care and buffing results.
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting repairs needed for plumbing, electrical issues or damaged fixtures.
- Follow strict safety protocols during all cleaning activities to ensure a hazard-free environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a solid understanding of commercial cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and carpet cleaners.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent sanitation standards and commitment to safety protocol adherence.
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or general custodial work is preferred; residential painting or porter experience is a plus.
