Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Durham, NC, for a Research Associate -Surgical Technician at Powered Research. Responsibilities include supporting preclinical research and study procedures by preparing anesthesia and instrumentation for surgical procedures, assisting in the operating room, ensuring proper sterilization techniques, and contributing to the overall quality of research outcomes. The individual will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to maintain the highest standards in surgical support and scientific rigor.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Experience working in an Operating Room and understanding surgical protocols and instruments
- Knowledge of Animal Medicine and its application to preclinical research
- Competence in Sterilization techniques and practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow surgical protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Veterinary or animal research experience is a plus
- Background in ophthalmology is desired
- Certification in surgical technology or a related field is preferred
