What You Will Do…
- Perform startup and functional testing of power distribution equipment: switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, metering, and PLCs
- Execute field tests such as:
- Insulation resistance
- Contact resistance
- Current & Voltage Measurements
- Relay operation and adjustment
- Review and interpret electrical schematics, control, single-line, and three-line diagrams
- Coordinate with commissioning teams, engineers, and OEM representatives to resolve issues
- Document all testing results, redlines, and project updates clearly and professionally
- Follow all job site safety protocols and Powercor’s internal quality procedures
- Willing and able to travel 100% of the time if not local to the area
- 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical commissioning, startup, or field service work
- Experience with mission-critical or data center electrical systems
- Familiarity with SCADA/PLC protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or NETA certification
- Strong knowledge of switchgear, protective relays, and power system fundamentals
- Proficiency using test equipment such as Megger, Omicron, or Doble
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Excellent problem-solving and customer-facing communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening and background check

- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds; some lifting may be required from knee to shoulder height or other levels.
- Ability to carry and transport up to 60 pounds for short distances (up to 20 feet).

- Work may take place in varied environments that can be cold, hot, noisy, or wet, and may include exposure to odors or fumes.
