Position Summary:
Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of comprehensive business plans for the product portfolio. Collaborates with the Marketing team to optimize strategies for assigned product categories and fosters strong Supplier relationships. Drives sales and profit growth for designated product lines, adapting strategies to align business requirements. Manages products, pricing, and promotional initiatives throughout the product life cycle. Coordinates closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of strategies. Formulates annual objectives, incorporating market-specific goals and account-specific action plans to achieve targeted outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Defined understanding of process ownership and solution-based leadership. This includes creative or critical thinking, process design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and stakeholder management.
· Increase the profitability of Power & Tel
· Product Lines/Supplier Plans
o Development of strategic and tactical plans for sales and profitability growth in Product Lines/Supplier Plans.
o Training the sales team on the devised plan.
· Execute and Monitor the Plan
o Conduct and coordinate sales training, monitoring both the effort and its effectiveness.
o Manage pricing and costing to optimize profits.
o Tracks significant Customer deals and provide support in the closing process.
o Monitor overall results and performance against plan goals, taking corrective action, as necessary.
o Monitors direction of market trends and Power & Tel’s direction, conducting analysis of performance compared to competitors.
· Negotiation
o Proven track record of business-to-business negotiations. This should include examples of corporate and opportunity-based cost savings.
o Engages in negotiations to secure advantageous deals for Power & Tel, including discussions with Suppliers to obtain the most favorable overall cost, rebates, deals, payment terms, and Cop-op funds.
o Aligns the Power & Tel team with key stakeholders from Suppliers.
o Negotiates with suppliers to position Power & Tel for a high probability of success, considering opportunities and strategies that:
§ Align with our skill set
§ Foster high potential growth areas.
§ Complement existing product lines (non-competes).
§ Maximize our reach across various areas and markets.
· Relationships Development - Documented experience in developing relationships at multi-levels (C-level to sales representatives) within a supplier’s organization.
o Suppliers: Establishes and maintains personal contact with key Supplier staff.
o Sales: Collaborates extensively with sales teams, working directly with Sales Managers, District Sales Managers (DSMs), and Account Managers (AMs) to implement and monitor plans.
o Marketing: Works closely with the Marketing team to coordinate activities for assigned product categories, including program literature, collateral material, and market research.
o Operations: Coordinates with the Purchasing team to monitor inventory levels and support stock rotations/returns.
o Coordinates and participation in quarterly business reviews with key suppliers and Power &Tel management.
· Financial Monitoring
o Monitors product lines for:
§ Profits
§ Profit Growth
§ Turns and Earns (T&E).
§ Investments (including financial indicators like inventory and intangibles such as time and effort).
· Positive Guidance
o Promotes optimal products by considering higher margins and growth potential.
o Identifies and launches new products, providing initial forecasts and ensuring timely launches within planned financial parameters.
§ Eliminates obsolete or underperforming products from the portfolio.
§ Maintains an in-depth knowledge and expertise in the product category, staying informed about technology trends, and evolving consumer behavior patterns.
§ Supervises other Product Managers working within the same product line.
§ Other job duties as required.
