Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled, innovative, and hands-on Software Engineer with a strong background in AI development, machine learning, software architecture, and intelligent automation.

The ideal candidate is not simply someone who uses AI tools to write code. We need an engineer who understands how to design, build, integrate, deploy, and optimize AI-powered applications and systems from the ground up.

This individual will work closely with our engineering, product development, and leadership teams to develop new technologies, enhance existing products, and identify opportunities to leverage AI throughout our organization.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where creativity, technical expertise, and the ability to turn ideas into functional products are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered software applications, intelligent systems, and automation solutions.

Develop and integrate machine learning models, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI technologies into products and internal systems.

Build AI agents, intelligent workflows, and automated decision-making systems.

Evaluate and implement AI technologies, including OpenAI APIs, computer vision, predictive analytics, and other emerging tools.

Develop custom AI solutions using appropriate frameworks, APIs, and model architectures.

Optimize AI applications for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

Software Engineering & Product Development

Architect, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software applications.

Build software supporting connected hardware, embedded devices, sensors, and automated electromechanical systems.

Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate software with physical products.

Develop APIs, backend services, databases, and cloud-based applications.

Create intuitive user interfaces, dashboards, and software tools where needed.

Troubleshoot complex software and hardware integration challenges.

Participate in rapid prototyping, testing, and continuous product improvement.

Innovation & Business Automation

Identify opportunities to leverage AI to improve product functionality, operational efficiency, customer experience, and business performance.

Design intelligent automation systems to streamline internal processes.

Research emerging AI technologies and evaluate their practical applications.

Translate business objectives and product concepts into functional software solutions.

Take ownership of projects from initial concept through development, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

Required Qualifications

Extensive, demonstrable hands-on experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications is mandatory.

Strong professional software engineering experience, including designing and delivering production-ready applications.

Advanced proficiency in Python and experience with additional programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, C , or C#.

Proven experience working with large language models, generative AI, machine learning frameworks, and AI APIs.

Experience with technologies such as OpenAI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, or comparable AI development platforms.

Strong understanding of AI agents, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and AI workflow orchestration.

Experience developing backend systems, APIs, and cloud-based software.

Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, algorithms, and system integration.

Experience with Git, testing, debugging, and modern software development practices.

Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and deliver working solutions.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and leadership teams.

Important: Experience using ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted coding tools alone does not satisfy our AI experience requirement. Candidates must demonstrate meaningful experience building actual AI-powered software, applications, or systems.

Highly Desirable Experience

AI integration with physical products, connected devices, robotics, or automated machinery.

Embedded systems, Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers, and IoT technologies.

Computer vision, image recognition, and real-time data processing.

Sensor integration, motor controls, and electromechanical automation.

Edge AI and deployment of AI models on local hardware.

Mobile application development for iOS and Android.

Cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Experience taking new products from concept through prototype and commercialization.

Experience working in manufacturing, consumer electronics, sports technology, or hardware-focused product development.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES FULL-TIME, IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE AT OUR JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA FACILITY.
