The Generator Service Technician is the driving force behind reliable power for the customers who depend on us most. In this field-based role, you will take ownership of diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and executing repairs across residential and commercial generator systems to ensure equipment is ready to perform when it matters most. What You’ll Do:
- Complete scheduled service calls and preventive maintenance on generator systems
- Identify deficiencies or wear-and-tear issues during PM and communicate findings to the Service Manager and customer
- Perform break/fix repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise on-site
- Schedule service appointments directly with customers when needed
- Address customer concerns with professionalism and escalate unresolved issues to the Service Manager
- Support customer retention and satisfaction through reliable, courteous service
- Accurately document all service activity, findings, and parts used in ServiceTitan
- Ensure tickets are closed out promptly and all job information is recorded for billing and reporting purposes
- Collect clear, detailed notes to support the quoting process for recommended repairs or upgrades
- Use appropriate hand and power tools for diagnostics, repairs, and installations
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and system layouts to guide work
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly follow all safety protocols
- Support equipment installations or retrofits as needed
- Identify and communicate opportunities for new preventive maintenance or service contracts while in the field
- Relay qualified leads to the Service Manager or sales team
- Maintain 100% customer satisfaction through dependable service and clear communication
- Ensure 100% completion of assigned jobs, including proper documentation and timely ticket closeout
- Accurately identify generator deficiencies during preventative maintenance and communicate them effectively for quoting
- Provide complete and detailed field information to assist the Service Manager in generating accurate service quotes
Required:
- 3 years of experience in a generator technician or similar field service role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using tools and equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and ability to interpret wiring diagrams and schematics
- Proficient in wiring, troubleshooting, and the technical aspects of generator service
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive mindset
- Able to work independently or as part of a team with strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment job-related assessment, background check, and motor vehicle record review.

Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 60 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts
- Regularly performs tasks involving squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead
- Capable of moving and setting up ladders and materials without assistance
- Ability to identify problems or potential issues in systems and respond appropriately under supervision
