Field Safety Manager

Position Summary

The Safety Manager, Field Services is responsible for leading and supporting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across Power Services Group's (PSG) field operations throughout North America.

This position provides direct HSE support for steam turbine, gas turbine, generator, valve, rotating equipment, outage, maintenance, repair, installation, field machining, and technical advisory services performed at customer power generation facilities, industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, energy production sites, and other customer-controlled locations.

The Safety Manager works closely with Operations Leadership, Directors/VPs, Project Managers, Technical Field Advisors, Site Supervisors, Craft Labor, Contractors, and Commercial Representatives to ensure work is planned and executed safely while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and PSG standards.

This role serves as a critical business partner to field operations, helping drive injury prevention, hazard recognition, risk management, customer confidence, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Field Safety Leadership

• Serve as the primary HSE resource for field service operations throughout North America (international when needed).
• Support outage, turnaround, maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and emergency response activities.
• Develop strong working relationships with field employees, customer representatives, and operational leaders.
• Maintain a visible field presence through frequent project site visits and customer engagement.
• Promote PSG's safety culture through coaching, mentoring, leadership interactions, and field observations.
• Reinforce Stop Work Authority and Just Culture principles.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings, pre-job planning discussions, and customer safety meetings.

Operational Risk Management

• Reviewing work scopes and execution plans.
• Conducting project risk assessments.
• Verifying implementation of hazard controls.
• Supporting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Identifying opportunities to eliminate or reduce risk through engineering and administrative controls.
• Assisting operations in managing changing work conditions and emergent risks.

Customer Site Support

• Serve as PSG's primary HSE representative during customer projects.
• Build productive relationships with customer safety organizations.
• Participate in customer audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
• Support site mobilization activities including customer-specific orientation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with customer safety requirements and site-specific procedures.
• Assist in resolving customer safety concerns while maintaining project schedules and operational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; or
• Equivalent combination of education, military experience, technical training, and professional experience.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of occupational safety experience.
• Minimum 4 years supporting field service, power generation, industrial maintenance, outage, or construction operations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting work at customer-controlled facilities.
• Experience conducting serious incident investigations.
• Experience supporting traveling workforces across multiple sites.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
