Skilled Exterior Repair Technician

Position Summary

The Skilled Exterior Repair Technician is responsible for completing high-quality residential and light commercial exterior repairs, including roofing, siding, gutters, and windows. This role requires strong craftsmanship, attention to detail, professionalism with homeowners, and the ability to work independently while following company processes and safety standards.

The technician will review work orders and scopes of work, verify materials and tools before starting repairs, complete repairs efficiently, document completed work, and communicate effectively with both customers and the production team.

Core Responsibilities

Repair & Installation Work

• Complete assigned roofing, siding, gutter, and window repairs according to company standards and manufacturer specifications
• Diagnose repair issues in the field and communicate findings to management when additional work or materials are needed
• Perform repairs safely, efficiently, and with high attention to quality and detail
• Ensure all repairs are completed within the scheduled timeframe whenever possible
• Maintain professional workmanship that reflects positively on the company brand

Work Order & Material Management

• Review daily work orders, scopes, and job notes before arriving at each project
• Verify all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are loaded and available before leaving for the job site
• Notify the Production Manager immediately if materials are missing, incorrect, or damaged
• Track and submit receipts for materials or purchases made in the field
• Maintain organized company tools, equipment, and vehicles

Documentation & Communication

• Accurately track and submit daily labor hours and completed work logs
• Take clear before, during, and after photos of all repairs completed
• Communicate professionally with homeowners regarding project status, access needs, or repair findings
• Provide updates to the Production Manager regarding job progress, delays, or unexpected issues
• Document any change requests or additional repair opportunities discovered in the field

Job Site Management

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times
• Protect customer property during repairs
• Complete thorough cleanup after each project, including debris removal and magnet sweeping when necessary
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures

Team Participation

• Attend weekly production meetings and safety meetings
• Collaborate with office staff, project managers, and production leadership to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
• Assist with training or mentoring newer technicians when needed
• Perform other duties assigned by management

QualificationsRequired Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in exterior construction or repair work
• Working knowledge of roofing, siding, gutters, and window systems
• Ability to safely use ladders, power tools, and exterior construction equipment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with insurance restoration repairs
• OSHA certification
• Ability to operate dump trailers, brake equipment, or specialty tools
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
