POSITION SUMMARY
The Foreman is responsible for direct, day-to-day supervision of field crews on utility-scale solar projects. This role drives production, enforces safety standards, and ensures installation quality while maintaining schedule targets.
The Foreman is the frontline leader who translates construction plans into executed work — balancing productivity, safety, and accountability at the crew level.
STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITY
Crew Productivity Leadership
- Drive daily production goals aligned with MW targets.
- Align crew assignments with critical path activities.
- Support labor planning to meet schedule demands.
Quality & Efficiency Focus
- Ensure work is completed correctly the first time.
- Reduce rework through hands-on supervision.
- Maintain consistency in installation standards.
Culture & Safety Stewardship
- Model safety-first behavior at all times.

OPERATIONAL EXECUTION
Daily Field Supervision
- Assign daily tasks and monitor crew output.
- Review drawings and ensure scope clarity.
- Coordinate material staging and tool availability.
Production Tracking
- Monitor installed quantities (piles, racking, modules, conduit).
- Track daily labor hours and production rates.
- Communicate progress and obstacles to the Superintendent.
Equipment & Tool Oversight
- Ensure proper use of tools and equipment.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
- Prevent material waste or damage.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Labor Cost Control
- Monitor crew efficiency to protect the labor budget.
- Minimize idle time and unproductive labor.
- Report time accurately for payroll and job cost tracking.
Material Stewardship
- Reduce waste and prevent material loss.
- Ensure proper handling of high-value components.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
Crew Supervision
- Lead and mentor craft laborers and operators.
- Provide hands-on training and skill development.
- Maintain discipline and professional conduct standards.
Communication & Accountability
- Conduct daily toolbox talks.
- Communicate schedule changes and expectations clearly.
- Address performance issues promptly.
Workforce Development
- Identify high-potential crew members for advancement.
- Support leadership development pathway (Foreman to Superintendent).

Safety Compliance
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-8 years of utility-scale solar or construction experience.
- Proven experience leading field crews.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- OSHA 10 or 30 preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
