Job Overview
Power Plumbing LLC is hiring a dependable Plumbing Helper/Apprentice to support our plumbing technicians on residential and commercial service jobs throughout Hampton Roads.
This is an entry-level support position focused on assisting technicians, preparing job sites, handling materials and learning basic plumbing skills. Previous plumbing or construction experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train someone who is hardworking, reliable and interested in growing within the plumbing trade.
Duties
- Assist plumbing technicians with daily service calls and projects
- Load, unload and organize tools, equipment and materials
- Dig trenches and help prepare areas for water and sewer line repairs
- Help remove and clean up old plumbing materials and fixtures
- Keep work areas, vehicles and equipment clean and organized
- Retrieve tools and materials for technicians
- Use basic hand and power tools under supervision
- Follow safety procedures and technician instructions
- Learn basic plumbing systems, materials, fittings and terminology
- Assist with other physical and plumbing-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Plumbing, construction, landscaping, excavation or maintenance experience is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn basic plumbing knowledge and procedures
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow directions and work well with a team
- Ability to perform physical labor, including digging, lifting, bending and standing
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Comfortable working indoors, outdoors and in crawl spaces
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to the office
- Professional attitude around customers and coworkers
This position offers hands-on training and the opportunity to learn the plumbing trade while working alongside experienced technicians. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated and willing to work hard.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with some overtime or emergency work as needed.
