Overview
Power Mole Trenchless, LLC is a growing manufacturer of thrust boring, pipe-bursting, and trenchless utility equipment used in water, wastewater, and underground infrastructure applications. The President will lead the organization through its next phase of growth by overseeing day-to-day operations, strengthening vendor and customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across manufacturing, sales, engineering, and service.
This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing, P&L, and operational experience who thrives in a small-company environment and takes pride in building teams, systems, and processes that scale.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Execution
- Develop and execute the company’s short- and long-term strategic goals in alignment with ownership.
- Drive profitable growth through operational improvement, customer focus, and disciplined financial management.
- Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations including production, supply chain, inventory, engineering, service, and customer support.
- Implement operational systems that improve efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Ensure the shop operates safely and effectively, with strong adherence to manufacturing best practices.
- Build partnerships with new vendors and strengthen existing supplier relationships.
Sales, Customer & Market Engagement
- Support and oversee sales planning, pipeline management, and key account relationships.
- Work closely with customers, utilities, and distributors to ensure strong product support and field performance.
- Identify new market opportunities, product improvements, and equipment innovations.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees to support growth.
- Build a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork.
- Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure alignment and strong collaboration across production, engineering, sales, and administration.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Full P&L responsibility for the company, including gross margin improvement and cost discipline.
- Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, AP/AR, and capital expenditures.
- Manage relationships with banks, landlords, insurance providers, and key professional service partners.
Business Development
- Develop new vendor, supplier, and customer relationships that strengthen product offerings and market reach.
- Attend industry shows, customer demos, and sales visits as needed (moderate travel).
- Maintain strong relationships with municipal, contractor, and utility customers.
Qualifications
- 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, construction products, or related sectors.
- Proven success running operations, scaling teams, and improving manufacturing performance.
- Strong mechanical aptitude; familiarity with trenchless, underground utilities, construction, or heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience managing P&L, budgeting, and financial performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, hands-on environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred (MBA a plus but not required).
