Job Responsibilities/Essential Duties
- Serve as an individual contributor on a single team, focusing on projects of lower complexity.
- Collaborate with peers, software teams, digital marketing, and senior designers, contributing to the overall team effort by executing tasks under supervision.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, design discussions, and UX reviews to foster learning and teamwork.
- Assist in executing project tasks such as creating wireframes, low-fidelity prototypes, and visual design elements.
- Support the design team with front-end development aspects (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript), gradually building coding.
- Work on improving the user experience of both native and web-based applications while adhering to design system guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure smooth handoff from design to development, adhering to SCRUM processes.
- Utilize design systems, style guides, and prototyping tools like Figma to ensure consistency and quality across designs.
- Apply a creative use of color, typography, and iconography within established design systems, ensuring designs meet business objectives and user needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and marketing, to ensure designs meet both user and business needs.
- Participate in SCRUM ceremonies and contribute to team discussions on design improvements and project status.
- Contribute to design reviews and ensure that your work aligns with team goals, project timelines, and development standards.
- Handle other duties as assigned to meet evolving organizational needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic understanding of design principles, user research, wire-framing, and front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Figma).
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and also self-manage workload
- Build positive relationships across departments
- Basic problem-solving skills, applying creative solutions to UX challenges with support from the team.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage tasks efficiently with supervision.
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools, processes, and techniques in both design and front-end development.
- Bachelor’s degree in UX design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or completion of a relevant bootcamp/certification program.
- 0-2 years of experience in UX design or front-end development. No prior professional experience is required.
