Duties
- Perform service and repairs on power generators and associated equipment
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, circuitry, and control panels, ensuring compliance with safety standards
- Conduct engine repairs on diesel-powered generators, including replacing parts and performing system overhauls
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other specialized machinery to complete repairs efficiently
- Assist with small engine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and belt adjustments
- Maintain detailed service records, work logs, and inspection reports to ensure accurate documentation of all activities
Experience
- Proven experience or service technician background in automotive or heavy equipment repair
- Good knowledge of diesel engines and power generation systems with a focus on generator repair
- Strong electrical diagnostics skills with the ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems repair including engines, pumps, alternators, and control systems
- Familiarity with Cummins, Generac, Kohler or similar brands is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Customer service skills to effectively communicate technical information and assist clients or team members as needed
