POWER Engineers, Member of WSP, is currently initiating a search for a Mid-Level Distribution Engineer for our Fort Lauderdale office. The following locations will also be considered: Tampa; West Palm Beach; and Miami. Be involved in projects with our Distribution Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Design and deliver overhead and underground electric distribution projects (4 kV-35 kV), acting as the technical lead on medium-complexity work packages.
• Provide engineering calculations, construction packages, and field support while coordinating with project managers, drafters, and client utilities.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
  
  

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• BSEE (or equivalent experience)
• Solid understanding of OH and UG distribution design
• CAD Software Experience.
• 4 - 10 years in distribution engineering.
• Strong background in both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) distribution design.
• Proven ability to independently handle feeder-level OH and UG projects from scoping through Issued-for-Construction (IFC) with minimal oversight.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• EIT or PE (or progress toward)
• Utility standards experience (e.g., Duke, FPL, PG&E, TECO)
