Engineering Summer Internship- Electrical, Computer, & Programming
Power Electronics International, Inc. designs and manufactures industrial motor control systems and variable frequency drives used in the overhead crane industry. We are seeking motivatedapplicants for our summerinternship opportunity to assist in the development of cutting-edge industrial electrical devices.
About the Internship
Interns will work on both electrical hardware and software development tasks (microcontroller/arduino). The position offers exposure to real-world product design, testing, and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with electrical schematic and PCB drawings using KiCAD, EAGLE, etc.
- Support embedded systems and microcontroller programming (Arduino etc.)
- Participate in prototype assembly, testing, and documentation
- Collaborate on system integration and control logic design
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or Arduino programming experience
- Familiarity with electrical CAD tools for schematic/PCB design (e.g., KiCad, Eagle, Altium)
- Basic programming experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or microcontrollers
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Enthusiasm for hands-on engineering and innovation
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with Arduino platforms or other microcontrollers such as Arduino or ESP32.
- Understanding of programming languages like C/C , Python or similar for embedded development.
- Familiarity with hardware components including sensors, actuators, communication modules (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), and power management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot hardware/software issues effectively.
- Effective communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
