Position Title: Occupational Therapist
Department: Therapy Services
Reports To: Therapy Director
Status: Full-Time / Exempt
Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist provides patient-centered therapy services that help individuals regain independence and improve their ability to perform daily activities. This role focuses on restoring function, promoting safety, and supporting patients’ overall well-being through personalized treatment and education.
Essential Responsibilities
-Evaluate and assess patients to identify functional limitations and therapy goals.
-Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote engagement in daily living and work-related activities.
-Teach adaptive techniques and recommend equipment to enhance safety, mobility, and independence.
-Educate patients, families, and caregivers to ensure successful continuation of care at home.
-Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other therapists to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
-Document patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes according to facility and regulatory standards.
-Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that supports patient motivation and dignity.
-Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
-Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in good standing in the State of Idaho.
-Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program.
-Current CPR certification.
-Excellent communication and documentation skills.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
-Physical ability to safely assist patients and lift up to 50 pounds.
-Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
-Must exhibit professional behavior and a commitment to patient care.
Work Environment
-This position involves standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the day.
-May occasionally encounter emotionally distressing or sensitive situations and must maintain professionalism at all times.
-Interaction with patients, families, physicians, and staff requires strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and composure.
-Occasional weekend or holiday coverage may be required.
